HONORING & TRUSTING THE LIGHT WITHIN

Courage, perseverance, positivity, love, compassion, resilience, strength, trust, confidence, patience – all these attributes, and more, lie within each and every one of us. They are apparent, or rather, they exhibit themselves especially during extremely challenging times like the one that everyone in the world experienced recently. Most of us are unaware that we possess these amazing qualities. When we are conscious, we can tap into them and embody them completely. Then our lives would be so much more joyful and fulfilling, wouldn’t it?
Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for the next thirty minutes or so.
1. Sit comfortably on a chair or the floor, whichever suits you. Keep your back straight but not stiff, and place your palms on your thighs facing skyward. Close your eyes gently, relax your face and begin to breathe, becoming conscious of your breath. Are you breathing gently and evenly?
2. Watch your breath as you inhale through your nostrils, all the way down through your throat, into your lungs, heart and lower abdomen. Hold for a count of three. Release the breath. Continue for a total of nine breaths. By this time, your breath should be calmer and your body more settled. Reminder: These steps are done in a very gentle and loving way; no pressure is exerted. Be in a relaxed and unhurried mode and most importantly be patient with yourself.
3. On the next in-breath, become aware of the power of your breath. Oxygen is needed for your organs to function optimally. With each inhalation, you allow more oxygen to flood your entire body. Breathe in with the awareness and understanding of how your body functions. Feel or sense all your organs becoming energized as each breath brings in a fresh, delicious supply of oxygen. Visualize each and every cell in your body begin to glow with health and vitality. It will feel as if your cells are alive and shining bright like the sun. Continue to focus on expanding this uplifting feeling to your entire body.

4. Now bring your focus to the center of your chest where your spiritual heart is located. If you like, you can place both your palms over your chest area. Go deep into this sacred space and continue to breathe deeply. Slow steady breaths, in and out. With each inhalation, allow your heart to expand. As your heart becomes more open, you become aware of a spark of light emanating from inside of you. Breathe into this light and allow it to expand out to cover your entire body. With each breath in, focus on your heart and as you breathe out, allow the light to amplify, become brighter and stronger. With the power of your intention, feel or visualize this light radiating out all around you, in all directions – up high into the sky and deep down into the core of the earth.
It is at this moment that you begin to sense your connection with a higher consciousness. You are not alone and you feel strong and powerful, yet loved, supported and cared for, all at the same time. With this comes the realization of who you truly are. You are a magnificent and resplendent warrior of light. Tremendous strength, courage, determination and resilience lie within you. Your heart flows with love and compassion for yourself and everyone around you.
Being the true warrior that you are, you realize that every challenge in life is a gift for your highest learning and the only way is to keep moving forward in peace and confidence, trusting yourself and trusting divine flow.
A sudden surge of deep gratitude fills your heart. You feel blessed and thankful for everything in your life.
5. Before you come back from your meditation, remember to say a big Thank You to yourself and all who have guided you on your journey on this planet. You can gently open your eyes and have some water to drink.
6. Continue to sit and enjoy this peaceful and quiet space. Write down all your realizations in a journal.
Note: It is highly recommended that this meditation be done on a daily basis to keep your vibrations high. When you function from this level, you will be able to attract more positivity and abundance into your life. The best time to do this meditation is in the morning upon waking up; it is the perfect way to kickstart your day.
