Navigate Your Life with Goddess Guidance
Vanish The Goddess?
We may have more in common with the ancient gods and goddesses than you may think. Did you know that the Greek Goddess Hestia, of hearth and home, was not allowed to leave her house on Mount Olympus… ever. Across the globe, our lives have been challenged with worldwide lockdown restrictions, can you imagine being told you are to remain in lockdown forever!
The Goddess was birthed with the first stories of the world. Viewed as the original creator of all life, She was revered, worshipped and honored across all cultures of the earth. Going back millennia there is evidence that the female figure – in her various forms and roles as mother, virgin and warrior – existed and thrived in matriarchal societies.
What happened to make the Goddess and the sacred feminine slowly vanish from the history of the world, banished to the caverns and basements not only of our cultures but of our psyches? When did the patriarchal power-hungry, ego-obsessed society emerge?
Archetypal Energies
Looking at the goddess as an archetypal energy, we receive a much broader view of how the characteristics of each goddess can influence our well-being and daily lives. According to Jungian psychology archetypes are “a collectively-inherited unconscious idea that is universally present in individual psyches.”
Our fictional superheroes are a perfect example of the manifestation of this archetypal energy. We have Superman, Batman, Iron Man, X-Men and plenty more… men – why so few Wonder Women?
This is one of the reasons why and how the goddess energy existed and still does so today – she has a specific purpose. She personifies attributes relevant and necessary in our lives.
When we need courage, we can look to the Hindu Goddess Kali, when wisdom is called for the Greek Goddess Athena becomes our advisor. In this way we are allowing the divine wisdom of the sacred feminine to come to life again – and as a result we become our own superheroes!
Reclaiming The Goddess
One could spend a lifetime trying to uncover just how many goddesses existed at any given time, I do know it reaches into the thousands.
It is clear that the Goddess’s qualities and her role in society need reclaiming, recognition and re-integration into the psyche of humanity at large. It is critical we embody the divine feminine if we are to live healthy, balanced and productive lives.
Who doesn’t need prosperity, peace, health, wisdom and guidance? Who doesn’t need wise words of advice from a beloved grandmother or a mother’s loving touch; a superwoman of an aunt who is always there for us?
The goddess energy can help you harness any quality you need on any given day; they don’t just work 9 to 5 and every other weekend. Instead of resolutions, which usually only benefit ourselves and are just memories by mid-January, let us rather commit to the renewal, rebirth and optimistic resurgence of well-being in our lives on a daily basis.
Will you use the Goddess and Her gifts to worship and invoke or inspire and guide your life? Will you become bound like Hestia or soar with the Goddess of the Dawn through 2021? It is up to you.
I can’t wait to share with you, in the next edition, the electrifying warrior goddesses and how they can empower you with courage, confidence and clarity.
