Potential Vs Perceived Limitations

Potential is only limited by the human perception and the human mind. We all have our own unique potential. You cannot compare yourself to others. Instead, you should focus on building on strengths and improving weaknesses.

Many people blame their situation in life or their predicaments on the perceived limitations they have to live with, such as limited funds, lack of business, insufficient family support, uncooperative colleagues, and so on. However, this perceived human limitation is not the cause of suffering.

Conquer Doubts & Fears

The human thought, the human mind, is the cause of suffering. To achieve your full potential, you need to let go of your doubts and conquer your fears. Everyone, once they remove their doubts and fears, can go very far in life. Then, and only then, can you be all that you can be.

To achieve success, you need to be able to bridge the gap between what you see as a successful outcome, and actually getting there.

5 Habits To Cultivate To Embrace Your Limitless Potential

  1. Set Your Priorities

Always do the most important item on the list first each day. Work on completing the items on your priority list every day. Depending on your desired achievement, you can set practical short-term and long-term goals as well.

  1. Go For Bite-sized Targets And Goals

Spaced out over a timeline, these are more achievable and more manageable than one super-large and grandiose goal in the distant future. With the achievement of each milestone, you will gain confidence to carry on.

  1. Identify Illusions

You need to be able to tell what’s an illusion and what isn’t. An illusion is something you perceive to be the “truth” of the situation, but is in fact incorrect. Reflect on the situation and do your groundwork before you make important decisions. For disagreements, find out both sides of the story, before deciding on your next course of action.

  1. Stare Ego Down

When ego gains the upper hand, it will also lead to failure, because you don’t do what you’re supposed to do, but you do what makes your ego feel good. The worst thing to do is to put yourself on a pedestal and think so highly of yourself that you think you do not need to improve or learn anything new anymore.

  1. Learn And Then Learn Some More

Aim to learn something new all the time, and make lifelong learning an integral part of your life. In this way, we can always find ways to grow and become better versions of ourselves, day after day, and year after year.

Success Is A Long-Term Affair

Remember, your potential is unlimited. Do not let setbacks and things out of your control that happen color your perception and your life, causing you to give up. Perhaps you need to change your approach or your strategy.

Continue on, with your intuition and conscience as your compass. If you achieve success but you do not feel happy or fulfilled, then you need to re-evaluate your priorities and goals. Did you miss something? Is there something that you need to reflect upon?

What it means to be successful will vary from individual to individual. It could be a job promotion for a worker, or getting returns on investment in a new venture for a businessman, or it could be bringing up children in a balanced and enriching environment for a parent. It could mean so many things to so many people.

But ultimately, the real success you desire will make your heart sing, and bring joy into your life.
