Meditation To Focus & Strength
Vol. 30
At work, you may be asked to adapt to sudden changes and more demanding bosses and clients. There could be job insecurity and a constant pressure to do more with less pay. At home, being cooped up with other family members with nowhere to go has become more and more stressful. Chances of having fights and arguments increase. There are few opportunities to be in your own quiet zone.
Your “fuse” has become very short and you get triggered easily. But what if you found out that the person who is triggering your emotion is also facing his own financial issues and insecurities just like you? Would you feel any different? Would you find yourself feeling some compassion and forgiving that person?
The key to a conscious shift is to avoid reacting in haste but to seek understanding of the situation first; then learning something useful from it. The shift may even start with consciously changing oneself from the inside.
There is a saying, “If you can’t change the outside, then change from the inside”.
With understanding and compassion, the way you see the situation will be different from how you saw it before. And when perspective changes, your action will change at the same time.
Doesn’t it feel good to contribute to a more harmonious environment whether at work or at home? Yes, definitely!

Meditation Steps
Let’s do the following simple meditation to bring you to a deep state of relaxation, release your worries and sadness, increase your focus and regain your strength to manage your daily life better.
Practice this meditation after waking up in the morning or an hour before going to bed at night. Drink a glass of water before the meditation.
It is best not to do this meditation when you feel exhausted because this meditation requires your focus.
Let’s begin.
1. Find a comfortable and quiet spot, sit on a cushion (cross-legged) or a chair (both feet touching the floor) and play some relaxing music you love.
2. With palms facing up and head just slightly tilted up, focus on your breathing and feel the smooth sensation of the air flow in your nose.
3. Take 7 deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling audibly.
4. Feel the fresh and clean air inside your body. As you breathe, feel the air clearing your lungs and stomach of worries and sadness. Feel the freshness of the air in your body.
5. Feel your whole body relaxing, starting with the top of your head, then your forehead, neck and shoulders, chest and upper back, then the lower back, the stomach area and pelvis. Loosen up your arms and palms, legs and feet.
6. Focus on the point at the center of your brow (between your eyebrows). See a point of light shining brightly and see it getting brighter and brighter. It gradually forms a sphere of bright light covering your whole body. This is the Light of Learning, for everything that enters this Light sphere allows you to learn from it and makes it your wisdom.
7. Slowly bring your focus to the point at the center of your chest. See a point of light shining brightly and feel it growing stronger and stronger. Just like in step 6, this light forms another layer of spherical bright light that covers your whole body. This is the Light of Understanding, for everything that enters this Light sphere allows you to understand it from your heart and changes it into your abundance in life.
8. Affirm in your heart the following:
• I learn and understand from everything that happens around me.
• I release all my worries and sadness.
• I have ample strength to handle any challenge.
9. Feel the light fill every cell in your body and charge your energy up. This energy will accompany you for the rest of the day.
10. Feel your fingers and toes, slowly come back and gently rub your face.
Whenever you face any situation that drains you, move your focus to the point at the center of your brow and chest for a few seconds. Remember that you are understanding the situation and learning from it to bring wisdom and abundance into your life.
