After being the first ever holistic wellness carnival in Malaysia, the bodymindsoul team went on to achieve two more milestones in this bodymindsoul carnival!
We held our first ever outdoor bodymindsoul carnival at The Square, Publika on June 2 & 3, 2018 and we also had our very first bodymindsoul team of dancers, “MaGicKal LiGhT DanCers” performing on stage for the very first time, too!
The Magickal Light Dancers came from all walks of life, from homemaker to financial planner to company director! All were novice dancers without any dance background. But persevere they did. With five weeks of dutiful practice under Fellest Yan, the dance instructor, the troupe danced heartily to the hit song “The Greatest Show” to an appreciative crowd.
Being an outdoor event, the carnival was blessed with the rays of the powerful sun throughout the two days. With the theme “Empowering Self” ringing throughout the carnival via the inspiring mini-talks, motivational workshops and educational activities, the bodymindsoul team and the visitors get to bask in the energizing sunlight which provided the strength and motivation to empower oneself!
The bodymindsoul team and the vendors started off each morning with a group alignment to get everyone into the carnival spirit of spreading love, joy, gratitude and harmony. This empowered everyone to start the day right, with the right attitude and the right focus to share and benefit visitors and everyone around them.
As with our previous carnivals, our upbeat “Free Hug Parade” team went around the mall spreading love and joy, offering free hugs and give-away bookmarks of positive quotes to the mall visitors. With arms wide open, the Free Hugs team led by Teoh Yeong Keat, charmed many with their genuine hearts and big smiles. Some shoppers themselves even ran towards the team for the hugs!
Other interesting happenings included yoga, various types of meditations, acoustic music performance, dance performance, sound healing, empowering and educational mini-talks, bonding activity between parents and children, and many others.
In the “Bonding Through Art” session, parents took a back seat as their children led the activity. It was a remarkable learning experience for both sides as it allowed the children to understand how their parents felt having to lead or guide the children in life. On the other hand, the parents learned patience and to let go of control of any outcome. Children were taught skills to help themselves or others who are bullied through the skit “Bullying Through My Eyes” performed by TGSHI (The Golden Space Holistic Institute) Youth Initiative.
An interesting role-play was demonstrated by a few children and teenagers on the subject of bullying. Through this program, children were empowered with the right knowledge and skills to help themselves or others who are bullied. Parents also learned how to support their children, if bullied.
The Enchanted World of Mother Earth had various educational activities at their booth, eco bricking demonstration as well as sharing on Zero Waste by The Guardians of Mother Earth. Some children also brought their pre-loved toys & books for exchange too.
As part of giving back to society, the bodymindsoul carnival also made special arrangements for teenagers and children from selected homes to participate in an Empowerment Workshop specially designed for them. This was made possible through generous contributions from sponsors. The teenagers and children were delighted to attend the workshop within the settings of the carnival as the exposure gave them a different feeling and experience.
Visitors were spoilt for choice with the variety of alternative healing therapy and services available at the carnival. Many took the opportunity to try out the different types of healing modalities available such as pranic healing, genkilogy and reiki healing. A visitor, Alvin Lee, commented that the free fingerprint analysis offered by one of the booth vendors were spot on in analyzing his characteristics. All it took was a quick scanning of four of his fingers!
The bodymindsoul team would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Master Umesh H. Nandwani, The Golden Space Malaysia, Guardians of Mother Earth, Publika Shopping Gallery, MOMAwater, AGTIV Consulting Sdn Bhd, Fatpapas Burgers and Shakes, Mr Jimmy Amato from Red Zone Solutions Sdn Bhd and all contributors of the Sponsor A Child Program.
Our deep appreciation to a few of our more-than-generous contributors who made additional contributions, thus making this bodymindsoul carnival happened.
Also, thank you to Radico, Nunature and Freaking Wholesome for contributing towards the lucky draw prizes.
We would also like to thank Savy Ho, Sarrah GM, Mohd Faisal Abdul Rani and Jennifer Lai for taking the time to be at our carnival to inspire and empower everyone to adopting a better and positive lifestyle.
And a big thank you to our bodymindsoul magazine readers and all carnival visitors, for making this bodymindsoul carnival for 2018 another great success!
