The Center Of Your Physical Survival

Your survival-based “fight-or-flight” response originates from the root chakra. The energy of this survival chakra allows you to summon courage, resourcefulness and the will to live during trying times.

It governs your physical energies, giving you a sense of safety and security. The root chakra connects with the energies that ground you in your life, such as your basic needs for food, water, shelter, and safety. When these needs are met, you feel grounded and safe, worry less and have better health.

Illnesses Related To Root Chakra Imbalance

The root chakra begins its development after you were born until you were 7 years of age. Any verbal, mental, physical abuse or lack of security during these years would leave negative imprints in this chakra. Family wounds are stored in this first chakra. Perhaps your family always struggled financially or moved house often.

This energy would then tend to carry over to you. Any unfinished business with parents is a root chakra issue. In all of these cases, imbalances to the energy of the root chakra can set the stage for illness.

Autoimmune diseases (lupus, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, fibromylgia, thyroid disorders, AIDS, cancer, allergies) are when the immune system of the body attacks the body itself. These are root chakra imbalances.

The body gets a destructive message from deep within itself. Mental depression has been associated not only with self-destructive behaviors but with depression of the immune system function.

If you experience anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares, your root chakra is most  probably blocked.

Physical manifestations of such blockage would be problems with – the colon, the bladder, elimination, the lower back, the leg or the feet. Other problems include lower back pain, constipation, and addictions to food or alcohol.

Imbalanced root chakra may cause prostate problems in men.

Eating disorders, poor immune system, anemia, depression, laziness, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), being overweight or underweight are also indications of root chakra imbalance.

The Cause of Scarcity Is False Beliefs About Money

If you grew up when money was scarce, you might feel the need to save compulsively even when money isn’t scarce for you in your adult life. Or, maybe you were somehow made to believe that a low-level job was the best you could ever hope to do. Is that true?

When was the first time you felt that being you is not enough? Not good enough, not smart enough, not beautiful enough, not successful enough, not loved enough, not anything enough? This planted the first seed and became the root cause of your wealth issues. For some people, this could lead to eventual health issues.

False Beliefs Can Be Changed

It takes some work, but you absolutely can reframe your thoughts and break through negative beliefs about money that have trapped you in a scarcity loop. If you feel like you might have a root chakra problem, take a moment to ask yourself where it stems from.

A lot of times, these “survival” instincts are carried through generations or programmed into one’s memory early in childhood. Think about how your parents and grandparents felt about money. What did you do with money as a child, spend it or save it?

Were you taught good money habits or were you chastised for your decisions around money? All of these early experiences shape how you feel about money. Now ask yourself, “Is this the truth?”
